DEBATE TOPIC TO FOCUS ON EDUCATION

March Debate Topic: “Should schools prioritize teaching coding and computer science over traditional subjects like history or literature?”

Debate judges have a crucial role in ensuring that the debate is conducted fairly and that the debaters are evaluated objectively.

Your responsibilities:

1. Reasoning and evidence: Judges look for the ability of the debater to construct a convincing case with sound reasoning and evidence.
2. Listening and response: Judges evaluate the debater’s ability to understand the other side of the case and rebut it.
3. Organization and clarity: Judges assess the debater’s ability to organize their arguments and present them in a clear and concise manner.

In addition to these responsibilities, judges must also be familiar with the rules and format of the debate event they are judging. They must be impartial and avoid any bias or conflict of interest. Judges should also take notes during speeches and cross-examination periods to help them evaluate the debaters’ arguments.
